Food is far from enjoyable these days. You have all these rules around what and when you can eat. At meals, you’re consumed with worry about whether or not you’ll overeat, if others are watching and judging, and if you’re following all the rules you’ve created. On the rare occasion you allow yourself to enjoy food, you feel shame and guilt, and can’t believe all your progress for the week has gone down the drain.

Beyond the food, you cycle between feelings of shame and guilt, between motivation and defeat, and between self-love and self-hatred. More and more you isolate yourself because you don’t feel confident in any of your clothes, are embarrassed to eat in public, and definitely don’t want to show up in pictures or have them posted on social media. 

You deserve to enjoy food.

Therapy can help you create a healthy relationship with food. You'll learn skills to reframe unhelpful thoughts about yourself and de-program messages utilized by the media and diet culture. You'll be able to create a healthy narrative around food, movement, and your self-image.

I take an all foods are healthy approach that focuses on balance versus restriction. This helps reduce binge urges as well as create a sustainable relationship with food that can continue long after you've reached your goal. I work with clients to establish small foundational goals that once achieved, not only fuels your confidence but creates the framework which allows you to build on that foundation and expand on your goals.

  • I have experience working with eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, & binge eating) at inpatient through outpatient levels of care. I work with you to meet your goals and manage eating disorder triggers.

  • For some, medication can be helpful in managing food thoughts and cravings. However, most individuals do not want to be on medications forever. My treatment plan helps you make the most of the benefits of of the medication and establish a healthy relationship with food for when you decide to stop taking them.
