ONLINE SUPPORT DURING MEALS IN TEXAS

Recovery is possible

Maintain control over your disordered food thoughts and urges

I understand that mealtime can be one of the most challenging aspects of recovery from an eating disorder. Our Meal Accountability Group is designed to provide a safe, compassionate, and structured environment where you can receive the encouragement and support you need to nourish your body and mind.

Why Join Our Meal Accountability Group?

  • Shared Experience: Connect with others who understand your struggles and can offer empathy, understanding, and mutual support.

  • Accountability: Regular group meals help establish routine and accountability, crucial for long-term recovery.

  • Non-Judgmental Space: Our group is a judgment-free zone where you can express your feelings, fears, and victories without fear of criticism.

  • Collaborative Support: Reports and updates can be sent to your registered dietician (RD) and/or therapist. This keeps your care team looped in

You deserve to be supported during all your meals

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner…Plus snacks!

I know the recommended meal plan in residential treatment and that your dietician follows. It always seems so overwhelming and unrealistic, at least to your eating disorder. At home, you have the support of others. They engage you in conversation, distract you, and also hold you accountable to actually sitting down and having a meal.

Lunch is another story though because you’re usually alone. Work makes it easier to skip lunch, to brush it off as “normalized” behavior because everyone skips lunch when work is hectic. Also, your support system is busy with their job, so they aren’t there for the accountability.

You want to stay on track with the progress you’ve made, but your sneaky little eating disorder looks for any opportunity to worm it’s way back into control of your life.

Join us for lunch and get the accountability and support you’re looking for.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH YOUR NEXT STEPS

Consultation

When you reach out you can schedule a consultation to learn more about pricing, group expectations, and all policies prior to receiving links for registration and payment. You can also receive information via email if preferred. Our goal is for you to be informed prior to committing.

Attending Group

This group is unstructured and is designed for accountability around meals. You'll join the virtual meeting, with your camera on, and engage in casual discussions with peers while you eat. The facilitator will help with building rapport amongst attendees and making it comfortable.

After Group

You get to continue with your day knowing you won the battle of whether you should or shouldn’t have lunch. If you elected to have attendance shared with your treatment team, they will receive weekly updates. You’ll also receive a registration link for the following week every Wednesday.

You spend enough time in treatment appointments every week.

Our accountability group isn’t treatment, its simply a safe space for you to use as accountability for lunch because we know how tempting it can be to skip or skimp.

FAQS

Questions others have asked

  • This group is appropriate for adults, 18 years of age and older who are committed to recovery. Being committed is evidenced by engagement in treatment with a RD and/or therapist.

Whether you've already been to a higher level of care and are working to maintain recovery, trying to prevent going to a higher level of care, or this is your first time acknowledging the disordered eating behaviors and working on getting the behaviors under control, this group is me.

  • This group is unstructured and is designed for accountability around meals. You'll join the virtual meeting, with your camera on, and engage in casual discussions with peers while you eat. The facilitator will help with building rapport amongst attendees and making it comfortable. This is not another group therapy you have to attend. It's simply a place to hold you accountable at lunch and help you meet other individuals who can understand what you're going through.

  • There is no pre-determined length of the group as it is unstructured and is here for accountability and support versus education with a set curriculum.

  • As the purpose of the group is accountability, it is most effective when you actually attend. If there is a true emergency, attendance can be transferred to a future group. It is important to note that changes in work schedules are not considered an emergency. Groups are booked one week at a time, so that you can verify your schedule and select the group time that works best for you.
